Frequently Asked Questions

Floods, storms, burst pipes, sewer line breaks, sink or toilet overflow, or a malfunctioning appliance – such as a water heater, washing machine, dishwasher or refrigerator – can all contribute to extensive water damage to your home. Excess moisture of any kind, particularly in Georgia’s hot, humid, and stormy climate, can lead to harmful mold growth and structural damage. Water damage can also cause rust or fungus to form on mechanical systems, leading to failed parts and mechanisms in your toilet tanks, water pipes, HVAC systems, and other mechanical objects.

Rescue Restoration confronts not just the visible aftermath of water losses, but also the subsequent costly consequences. Our water damage restoration services are thoughtfully engineered to do more than just dry out your home; they are designed to treat homeowners the way they want to be treated, working in partnership to advocate for, guide, and support them through every step of the process.

At Rescue Restoration, we follow a proven 8-step IICRC-approved approach to mold remediation: Assessment, containment, removal, HEPA cleaning, antimicrobial cleaning, HEPA vac, correction, and drying. We provide a clear, concise explanation of each stage of the process to help you understand and make informed choices about the shape your restoration journey takes.

Our crawl space services are a robust defense strategy against moisture, pests, and decay. From vapor barriers to structural fortifications, each service is a proactive step towards maintaining your crawl space and protecting your living areas.

Our work includes: Vapor barrier encapsulation, pier, beam and rim joist reinforcement, foundation waterproofing, dehumidifier installation and mold remediation.

The extent to which insurance will cover our services hinges on the specifics of your policy and the nature of the damage. Our role extends beyond quick fixes; we navigate the complexities of insurance claims to ensure that you leverage the maximum potential of your policy.

In the event of a flood, leak or water damage, insurance companies require property owners to protect their homes against further damage. There is a clause in every policy stating that if you fail to mitigate against further damage, the insurance company can, and most often will, deny your claim.

Mold damage or crawl space repairs, if caused by a sudden or accidental event, may be covered. If it’s a gradual buildup over time, it’s not likely to be covered by insurance and is likely handled on a case-by-case basis.

Subtle signs like persistent musty odors, visible mold, or structural irregularities such as sagging floors can indicate issues in your crawl space. Working with our crawl space technicians promptly can address these warning signs and fend off secondary damages.
